Soon after securing our 4th term ballot SABC was formed. We recruited an highly experienced professional as our Business Crime Reduction Manager consultant and our SABC management Board was formalised made up of senior representatives from South Wales Police, Businesses, Local Authority,
British Transport Police and is independently chaired by a previous Chief Superintendent of Police.
The BCRP has grown this year, making it an even more effective network for tackling the specific crime types that affect our businesses, such as retail crime and antisocial behaviour.
As part of its growth this year the partnership has already one of the only Bids in Wales to hold the coveted National Association Against Business Crime Accreditation.
The partnership now includes 242 businesses across the SwanseaBID area, we launched a dedicated SABC website and supported other BCRP’s in South Wales by creating a Wales Against Business Crime website that has information on all South Wales BCRP’s.
The connections we have developed with national organisations will ensure Swansea BID and its partners are well informed of current business crimes, challenges, and trends nationwide.
