Annual General Meetings
Our next AGM will be on 4/3/13 @ The Dragon Hotel. Unfortunatly the AGM was non quaorum resulting in no meeting taking place. The board will be discussing this going forward at our next board meeting. Our 2011/12 annual report is available from the BID office.

Swansea BID has gained British BID Accreditation. This has become the industry standard to measure a BID's quality management systems. BID members can be satisfied that the BID is well managed, has strong governance arrangements in place and that it complies with Legislation and Regulations which govern it.
By obtaining the industry accreditaton members have reassurance that Swansea BID is operated in a way that businesses would expect.
Management
The day to day management of the BID is lead by its Chief Executive Russell Greenslade who reports directly to the Chairman and Board of Directors.

Russell Greenslade BA (Hons) FCIM FCMI CM
Russell is a Marketing graduate, a Chartered Marketer (CM), Fellow (FCIM) of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Fellow (FCMI) Chartered Management Institute. Russell has worked in the public and private sectors where he held senior management positions in FMCG, Pharmaceuticals, Property Development, Sales, Wholesale and Retail.
Russell is also an elected member of British BIDs advisory board and the Swansea Economic Regeneration Partnership (SERP) Entrepreneurship Delivery Team. Russell joined BID in 2009 tasked with leading the company through the renewal ballot, He did this successfully at challenging economic times securing a strong mandate and has been with BID since.

Dave Kenny owner of The Party Shop (Independent Business Sector)
Dave has been a self-employed retailer in Swansea since 1986, and Director of several retail based companies since 2000. He was key in the setup of the BID in Swansea in 2003 and is currently the chair of the very successful board. He is directly responsible for overseeing the 16 board directors who represent public and private sectors. Dave is responsible for the overall running and co-ordination of the BID and its staff and projects. He is also the main liaison with local authorities and chairs many BID working groups.
In his spare time, Dave is a keen martial artist and motorcyclist who enjoys outdoor activities.

Christos Stylinaou - Owner of Derricks Records (Independent Business Sector)
Christos is one of the original members from the board of Directors which led on the creation and development of the BID during 2005/6. He has been an active and loyal member since then and currently chairs the Marketing and Events working group. As an independent trader in the heart of the independent quarter, Christos is at the thick of day to day trading for fellow independent businesses.

Helen Bowden - MD at The Wave and Swansea Sound (Media Business Sector)
Helen is currently the Director of the Wave and Swansea Sound, the number one stations for Swansea and South West Wales. Helen has a wealth of experience with BIDs, as she was previously chair of Blackpool BID, where she was instrumental in the work leading up to their re-vote. Helen also works with the Swansea Bay Futures board, the Swansea Chamber Council and the Swansea Business Club and sees her role as an ambassador for Swansea both in the area and outside it.

Born and bred in Swansea Cath has worked in the hospitality industry for 25 years despite having followed an academic career within the field of Law. Having worked overseas (in Australia and USA) for years, upon her return to Swansea in 2005 she joined the team at The Dragon Hotel and is currently the Interim General Manager there. More creative than technical, Cath’s extensive travelling has enabled her to experience weird and wonderful things if not how to capture them on camera. Not renowned for her patience, Cath is solution focused and will always want to leave every meeting with a clear plan of action for progression. Having lived in many vibrant cities around the world Cath is eager to bring the best elements of all to her home town. A fluent Welsh speaker, Cath wishes her linguistic skills also extended to fluency in Spanish so that she may converse freely with her husband’s family in El Salvador and is busy educating everyone she meets on her travels that Swansea is in Wales and not England!

The BID is very grateful to the 800+ businesses which fund the projects and activities. For businesses who are exempt from the BID - either they are below £5,000 Rateable Value, or they are outside the BID area - we welcome voluntary membership to enable businesses and organisations to further engage and gain the benefits of the BID projects.
